This Peckham party has a big focus on street food and craft beer alongside the DJ-driven line-up – beats and eats, as it were. With a line-up focussing on variations of underground electronic music (but mostly house and techno), and some live instrumental acts thrown in for extra jazzy measure, it’s returning in 2022 with three days of programming and long-term collaborators Rhythm Section and Horse Meat Disco.
The first acts announced for Gala’s 2022 edition include Gerd Janson, Goldie, Job Jobse, Shanti Celeste, and Josey Rebelle. Brilliant Corners’ Giant Steps sound system will bring the noise. The Thursday line-up is all about live music, with Children of Zeus, Nu Genea, Ezra Collective founding member Joe Amon Jones, and Seun Kuti & Egypt 80 playing across bass, soul, jazz and Afrobeat. More line up announcements will follow in the coming months.
Clapham Common’s bank holiday dance music explosion returns from a two-year plague-induced hiatus for another weekend of big drops, club anthems and arms in the air. If you’re longing for superstar DJs but can’t afford Ibiza and are loath to spend the last days of summer in a dark room, head to SW4 for your fix of big-room house, EDM, electro, techno, trance and grime, as well as other genres creeping in from all angles. After two years away, expect a big party come August.
