Co-op and Big Zuu gives back to Isle of Wight festival-goers with a surprise appearance at festival store – Retail Times

BAFTA-Award winner, Big Eats TV presenter and grime MC Big Zuu surprised festival goers at Co-op’s Isle of Wight festival shop this weekend (Saturday 18th June), as part of Co-op’s ‘Rock up, Stock up, Give back’ campaign.
The campaign sees Big Zuu team up with the convenience retailer, continuing their partnership to support Community Fridges. It aims to highlight how Co-op members, shopping in the festival stores using their membership cards or app, will help to raise funds that go to fund local projects across the UK, including Community Fridges in partnership with Hubbub.
Alongside this surprise appearance in the Co-op store, which had shoppers dancing in the aisles, Big Zuu has produced content going across his and Co-op’s channels.
Amanda Jennings, director of live and local marketing; Co-op said: “Big Zuu and Co-op are natural bedfellows, doing good and tackling the issues around food inequality whilst having a lot of fun. We hope that this surprise performance demonstrates our gratitude to our members for helping us to connect people, bringing them together and supporting our Community Fridge initiative in partnership with Hubbub”
This year, Co-op will be building and running a pop-up store at nine festivals across the UK including Latitude, Creamfields, Leeds and Reading.
Since 2016, the ethical retailer has raised money for several hundred Community Fridges – local spaces to share food & reduce waste. The campaign works to highlight community solutions to tackle food waste and increase education including classes and workshops. Co-op and Hubbub are aiming to double the network of Community Fridges from 250 to 500 by 2023.
